BETA Committee
Maria Momchilova is an assistant professor
in the Department for Language Teaching and International Students
at Sofia University. She teaches General and Business English to
adults. She works in the field of ICT and FLT, Media and Cultural
Studies, Global Issues.
Dr. Ellie Boyadzhieva is an associate
professor in General linguistics at the Department of Foreign
Languages at the South-Western University of Blagoevgrad. She also
gives lectures in English Studies and English grammar. Currently she
is Head of the English Section at the Department. She was one of the
founders of BETA in 1991 in Sofia and President of BETA between 2001
and 2005.
Tanya Ivanova has been a devoted teacher
of English for many years. She finds her work with children
extremely rewarding. She is also an Academic director at Prestige
language school and a teacher-trainer for Sofia university. Tanya is
especially interested in teaching English to young learners. She has
delivered teacher training workshops at the British Council Summer
Schools for primary English teachers, at Optima and Oxford Centre
seminars.
Syana Harizanova is a lecturer in English
and methodology at New Bulgarian University, in charge of the
post-graduate retraining programme for primary teachers of English.
A teacher trainer with the British Council for 15 years, she has
carried out a lot of pre-service and in-service training, much of it
oriented towards teaching English to young learners. She has been
the Director of Studies of two British Council summer schools for
primary teachers of English in Bulgaria.
Nikolina Tsvetkova has been a teacher of
English since 1993 and a teacher trainer at Sofia University
Department of Information and In-service Training of Teachers since
2001. She works in the field of intercultural education, integrating
content and language, teaching English to young learners and
materials design and has taken part in various projects in the above
spheres. Nina has been the Director of Studies for several British
Council Summer Schools for teachers of English in Sofia. She is
co-author of a locally produced three-level primary English course
book – Freeway (Bulvest 2000).
Stefka Kitanova has been teaching Biology
and Chemistry in English and Spanish for more than 15 years now. For
the last 10 years she has dealt with course development and
pre-service and in-service teacher training in the field of CLIL/LSP
and subjects thought in FL. She also works in the field of
innovative approaches in language learning/teaching and
opportunities for collaboration and cooperation at all levels of
educational system. Stefka has been the coordinator and/or team
member of several national and European projects on CLIL/LSP and has
been running workshops, seminars and summer schools in the above
spheres. She is a book author and has many publications in LSP. |
