About BETA SIGs
ELT professionals specialise in a variety of areas each with a focus of their own. Expertise in a certain strand can be crucial for the achievement of particular goals or with regard to a specific organisation or institution. Hence networking with like-minded is one more opportunity to exchange, disseminate and share.
BETA has been functioning since 1991 and its Committee made the decision to give BETA members, who have different profiles, the chance to become aware of and explore their peers’ practices, ideas and observations or find partners for project work and staff exchanges.
The majority of BETA membership are school teachers or university lecturers, which is why the first special interest groups (SIGs) to found are the Young Learners and Teenagers SIG and the English for Specific Purposes SIG. Membership in BETA SIGs is free and members only need to fill in the BETA SIG Google Form or BETA Membership Application Form when joining or renewing membership.
In the future, BETA Committee plans to start organising webinars and other events catering for the interests of the SIG members.
