Dear ELT professionals,
We would like to invite you to contribute to the upcoming issue of the BETA E-Newsletter. The editorial team is looking forward to your submission of a short article, a piece of poetry, or any other text that brings value to our community. Your submissions can focus on (but may not be limited to) the following ELT areas:

  • Your past and forthcoming class/ school/ university projects, events, and conferences;
  • Your thoughts and experiences from conferences, workshops, courses you have attended;
  • Your or your students’ thoughts and experiences from external examinations and other forms of assessment;
  • A problem or some small-scale action/academic research, or even an idea for encouraging others to do such research, even jointly;
  • Your work in the field of ELT, sharing teaching/research tips and ideas, or your professional life narrative;
  • An interview with some of your students asking how they see English learning, what they read, what websites they follow, etc.

Author guidelines

If you feel you have something you would like to share:

  • Send us your paper in MS Word format together with a photo of you (in jpeg format) and a short bio note (of about 50 words).
  • Your paper must not have been previously published and must not be under consideration for publication elsewhere.
  • The length of your paper may vary: short contributions of 300 – 800 words are as good as long ones.
  • Consult the Call for Contributions to keep yourself posted regarding deadlines and additional information.
  • Pay attention to the fact that the formatting requirements have been changed so as to facilitate the preparation of your contributions.

Please, format your materials including references, if applicable, by following the instructions below: TEXT Page margins: normal (2.54 cm on all sides)

Headline and headings: Calibri 24, bold, centred, with only the first word and proper nouns capitalised Main text: Calibri 14, justified, line spacing 1.5

New paragraph: no indentation, leave one blank line between paragraphs and activate the option do not add space between paragraphs of the same style

In-text citations: According to Chomsky & Hale (1968: 23) ‘……………’
Tables, figures, and diagrams: should be numbered accordingly and included in the relevant part of the text; each should have an explanatory caption.

Page numbers: Do not number pages.
